AstraZeneca and Pfizer, the U. S. biggest biopharmaceutical company, have been selling their own generic versions of the blockbuster heartburn drug Nexium (esomeprazole magnesium).
Nexium, also known as Prilosec, is an older medicine that is used to treat the stomach problems caused by heartburn. AstraZeneca is one of the largest generic drugs companies in the world.
The company, which is based in Germany and is one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, is selling generic versions of Nexium.
In May 2014, AstraZeneca’s patent on Nexium ran out and the patent on Prilosec came up for a period of three years. AstraZeneca then agreed to pay Pfizer about $2.6 billion, and Pfizer paid $1.5 billion to settle a lawsuit that claimed it had improperly bought the patent rights to Nexium.
The lawsuit said that Pfizer had purchased the patent rights to Nexium for more than a year and had not sold the drug without a prescription. Pfizer also purchased the rights to Prilosec in May 2014 for $1.3 billion.
In a statement, the company said: “Nexium is a well-known drug that has been used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, and ulcers of the stomach. AstraZeneca has long supported Nexium by making a profit of more than $1 billion.”
AstraZeneca has not sold the Nexium generic version of Prilosec and the generic version of Nexium is still a prescription drug.
The lawsuit claimed that the patent was invalid and the Pfizer settlement payment was invalid for a number of reasons.
AstraZeneca was the only company in the world to have been able to sell Prilosec in a generic version, but the company failed to do so. It was only when Pfizer was able to sell a generic version of Prilosec that the company was able to sell its own version.
The lawsuit said that AstraZeneca failed to give Pfizer a good deal when it was able to sell Prilosec.
In the lawsuit, the company claimed that Pfizer did not properly dispose of Prilosec, because the company had not sold the Prilosec to any other company.
In the suit, the company said that Pfizer did not properly dispose of Prilosec, because the company had not sold the Prilosec to any other company.
The lawsuit also said that AstraZeneca did not properly dispose of Prilosec, because Pfizer had paid the $1.3 billion it had been owed for the sale of Prilosec.
AstraZeneca’s patent for Nexium ran out in May 2014 and the patent on Prilosec ran out in October 2014. The patent on Prilosec ran out in October 2014 and the patent on Nexium ran out in May 2014.
